Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Before booking a service, there are a couple of simple things you can check:

  • Clean the filters – Dirty filters can restrict airflow and reduce your air conditioner's performance. Cleaning them regularly may resolve minor issues.
  • Replace the remote control batteries – Even if the display on your remote lights up, the batteries may not have enough power to communicate with the indoor unit. Fresh batteries are always worth trying first.
  • Confirm the settings – Make sure the system is set to the correct mode (Cool, Heat, or Fan) and that the temperature is set appropriately.
  • Check the power – Ensure the unit is switched on and check your circuit breaker or safety switch if the system isn't receiving power.

If you've checked these items and your system still isn't working correctly, contact our team and we'll be happy to diagnose the problem.

  • In Summer: Set the temperature to its lowest setting (around 18°C) and make sure the system is in Cool mode.
  • In Winter: Set the temperature to its highest setting (around 30°C) and make sure the system is in Heat mode.

This creates a larger difference between the room temperature and your selected temperature, prompting the system to start cooling or heating if it's operating correctly.

If your air conditioner isn't heating during cold mornings or evenings but works normally during the day, it's likely entering defrost mode. This is a normal function designed to remove ice that can build up on the outdoor unit in colder weather.

During the defrost cycle, you may notice:

  • The indoor unit stops blowing warm air.
  • Steam or mist coming from the outdoor unit (this is normal and not smoke).
  • The system may stop heating for 5–15 minutes before automatically resuming normal operation.

Defrost mode helps protect your system and ensures it continues to operate efficiently in cold conditions.

If your air conditioner doesn't start heating again after 15–20 minutes, or the issue continues throughout the day, contact us and we'll be happy to help.

We recommend servicing your air conditioner at least once a year to keep it running efficiently, maintain healthy air quality, and help prevent unexpected breakdowns.
